Brewing Something Big: Our Coffee at the New Mote Science Education Aquarium (SEA)

There are moments in the life of a small, passionate coffee company that feel bigger than a single cup. For us at Brewed Monday Coffee LLC®, October 8, 2025, is one of those moments. On that day, the brand-new Mote Science Education Aquarium (SEA) will open its doors in Sarasota, and we could not be more honored and excited to share that Brewed Monday Coffee® will be featured at their new location.

This partnership means so much to our team. When we first booked our flight to find a coffee farm and began selling bags and pouring cups at local farmers markets, our goal was to introduce a more transparent, direct-trade approach to coffee. Now visitors will have the chance to experience hand-picked, direct-trade, single-origin/single-farm specialty coffee while exploring one of the most inspiring science destinations in the region.

Coffee and Curiosity, Side by Side

What makes this partnership so special is the shared spirit of sustainability, education, and transparency. The Mote Science Education Aquarium (SEA) has long been a place where science comes alive where kids press their faces against the glass and future marine biologists take their first steps toward a lifelong passion.

Coffee, in its own way, is also about curiosity. Most people in the U.S. don’t even realize that coffee is a fruit and every bean inside that fruit tells a story about the region, the climate, the communities, the growers, the roasters, and ultimately, the consumers who enjoy it.

Serving Brewed Monday Coffee® at Mote means we get to be part of those stories unfolding every day as visitors learn about coral reefs, sharks, sea turtles, and the vital work of marine conservation. We are thrilled that our coffee can be a companion for those memories whether it’s exploring the exhibits or enjoying a relaxing outing with family and friends while learning something new together.

Our beans come from farmers who share that commitment to excellence. We work directly with producers in Honduras, Brazil, Colombia, and Costa Rica, who care deeply about sustainable practices, fair relationships, and preserving the richness of their land. Knowing where our coffee comes from and sharing those stories with our customers is what makes every coffee bean special.

Seeing that same dedication to knowledge and stewardship at Mote makes this collaboration feel organic and exciting. We could not be happier and more privileged to be a part of it.

A Milestone for Our Journey

This step forward also marks a milestone for Brewed Monday Coffee LLC® as a business. Just a few years ago, we were booking our first plane tickets to the unknown traveling in hopes of finding and connecting directly with farmers. Landing in foreign countries, guided only by word of mouth and passion, turned each trip into an adventure that planted the seeds for what we have today.

Since then, we have opened our own café on Anna Maria Island, built relationships with incredible local partners, and shipped hand-picked, single-origin beans to coffee lovers all over.

Being chosen as the coffee provider for Mote’s beautiful new aquarium is both humbling and energizing. It shows how far we’ve come and inspires us to keep growing while staying true to the craft and community that started it all.

We cannot thank Mote Science Education Aquarium (SEA) enough for this opportunity, and we’ll carry the gratitude for a very long time.

Farmers markets are also back in season across the Gulf Coast, and we’re excited to return to the Bradenton Farmers Market, where you can chat with us in person, pick up your favorite single-origin coffee bag, or try something new.

Of course, our Anna Maria Island Café remains open and ready to serve you the perfect cup, whether you’re there to soak in the relaxed beachside vibe that first inspired Brewed Monday Coffee® or simply to slow down and enjoy a mindful moment.
